Budget Update – We did it! Thank YOU!

We did it! The Governor and state lawmakers released the amended 2013-14 Health budget bill and your tireless advocacy has not only saved prescriber prevails for fee-for-service and prescriber prevails for atypical anti-psychotics in Medicaid managed care (what the Governor proposed repealing in his Executive budget proposal), but your hard work ALSO restored prescriber prevails in Medicaid Managed Care for the following additional 8 drug classes!

While this is not the full restoration of all drug classes we were fighting for, this is a huge victory and it couldn’t have been done WITHOUT YOUR EFFORTS!

The classes that were restored include:

  • Anti-depressants
  • Anti-retroviral
  • Anti-rejection
  • Seizure
  • Epilepsy
  • Endocrine
  • Hematologic
  • Immunologic therapeutic

(for a full detailing of the restored classes, click here)

This is a major victory, but our work is not done. We need to thank our lawmakers for their courage and fortitude in restoring this vital patient protection to New York’s Medicaid managed care patients.

Could you please call our state leaders and your local representatives and say:

“Thank you for the restorations you made to prescriber prevails in this year’s budget. Your diligence and support of New York’s Medicaid patients is very much appreciated. Thank you for supporting us.”
