After many months of delays, the state has released its list of nominees for the Public Health and Health Planning Council. The nominations, which include the previous members of the Public Health Council, need Senate approval. The list is: Arthur Levin, director of the Center for Medical Consumers; Ellen Gran, director of Cornerstone Manor of the Buffalo City Mission; Angel Alfonso Gutierrez, a doctor under contract with the Office of Professional Medical Conduct; John Palmer, executive director of HHC’s Harlem Hospital and Renaissance Health Care Network; Victoria Hines, CEO of the VNS of Rochester and Monroe County; Chris Booth, president of Lifetime Healthcare Cos./Excellus BCBS; Jeffrey Kraut, senior vice president, strategy, at North Shore-LIJ; Dr. John Rugge, CEO of Hudson Headwaters Health Network; Howard Berliner, most recently chairman of the Department of Health Policy and Management at SUNY Downstate School of Public Health; Ann Marie Theresa Sullivan, senior vice president of the Queens Health Network; Glenn Martin, director of medical informatics at Queens Health Network; and Anderson Torres, director of health initiatives at Bon Secours’ Schervier nursing home.
